Sunny days mean solar imaging....even if it's a bit chilly.
Using the C5 SCT on the CG-5 Mount, we tracked beautifully...but atmospheric conditions were less than acceptable...I guess air being pushed by the coming snow front is causing much turbulence...
I also had the 102mm Celestron Refractor in the van....so it was kinda of a shoot-out between the scopes. Didn't plan it, just happened ...
You can see how the optical mechanics flips the solar image between the C5 SCT and the 102mm Refractor.
Quality between the two is not finite....
The C5, with it's larger aperture is brighter, but the refractor is sharper. The C5 needs just a bit of a collimation tweak...but this is a warmer weather maintenance activity.
But...we capture some sunspots this day...
Rare was the air still enough to snap a sharp pic, but it'll do.
