How odd that JPL is under "Science" and not under "Space Operations".
I still don't have much faith in present day NASA administration. O'Keefe needs to go.
Jun 25, 2004 - NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe announced a series of changes to the agency to better prepare it to fulfill President Bush's new vision for human space exploration; to "make it leaner and more focused on its goals." NASA will merge seven existing enterprises into four mission directorates, to create clearer lines of communication and authority: Exploration Systems, Space Operations, Aeronautics Research, and the Science Directorate. Further changes are on the way

I dont understand the thinking of the people who put that together. You would think that JPL would be under Space but maybe they do alot of the Science Stuff and thats why they put them there. I think your right about O'Keefe having to go. I have thought on a number of times he did not do what was right for the Astronauts. Why didnt anyone tell them the Shuttle was hit and suffered damage. There was enough emails going around about it. But who am I just a lonely Astronomer in a small town.
