It most certainly is a cast off of some distant impact/impacts, as it's crazy space tumble indicates quite a wallop...and adheres to Newton's law of motion.

For those without the 3-d glasses, here's a new image that's circulating the web now.

It's one of those "cross your eyes" action that merges the left and right image into one in three dimensions.

I should have crossed my eyes on camera during the Fox interview while holding the potato! Now that's television!

The trick is to cross your eyes until you see 3 images. The middle one is the merged left/right images. That's what works best for me anyways.
