Hello all.
I need your help.
I have a Meade 2080 telescope that I have had for many many years and purchased brand new back a long time ago.
What I am looking for is a place or person in or around chicago whom is experienced and educated in "cleaning the telescope and aligning it, it has been stored for many many years and when I viewed from it is in need of some cleaning and alignment badly I assume. I remember the telescope being a great telescope and worked well long ago.
The telescope is in perfect condition, not a scratch on it, just seems to have got dirty and mis-aligned over the years.
Please, can you help me find a experienced person or place in the chicago area that can help me get the scope back to what it was, I was very much into astronomy back in 1970's and had a few telescopes back then, sold all of them but kept the meade 2080 telescope and all the lenses and items in perfect storage knowing one day I would get back into it.
If anyone has a idea or a company or person whom is legit... I can contact I would be very happy, the only alternative I have is to send it back to Meade for cleaning and re-alignment which might not be a good idea and very costly back and forth.
