Tonight! I'm seeing and hearing conflicting weather reports right now, but the last one I heard on the radio was for mostly clear skies tonight. That's good enough for me to try one last star party at Conway Observatory. Any active CA telescope crew member is invited, but there is a small caveat for this star party. For those who don't know, I'm in an atheist meet-up group, and some of the members have taken an interest in my stargazing hobby. Last month I suggested an October meet-up at Conway on, you guessed it, Saturday, October 15. Tonight. I don't know how many members will actually show up, but I had a small group respond that they would come out. Any CAs coming out to Conway tonight would have to be okay with being around atheists (I swear we're not bad people), and maybe offer some views in your telescope(s). If you'd like to come out for private viewing, I'm okay with that, but let me know so I can keep my friends away from your scope. As with previous Conway star parties, we will meet at the truck stop McDonald's just east of I-65 on RT.2 at 6 PM. I'll be out most of the day and won't be able to check back here, so if there are any questions, text (or call, but leave a voicemail) me at 219-309-3365. I'll try to keep an eye on updated weather reports, but I'm 95% sure right now that I will be out at Conway later. Hope to see some of you down there!

Thanks for the invite. I'll have to see if I can make it out there.

Oh Paulie...! Even with the winds kicking up...still a go? C.A. John and I might have a go at it.

It was windy last night. Like real bad. But really, how many more chances are we going to have? I kept the big scope low on it's pier to help keep it out of the wind. Wasn't the most comfortable viewing, but it did sort of work. I'll turn on the heaters in the building, and maybe make a pot of coffee, if we have any. With the wind, dew shields might not be necessary, but bring them just in case. And dress in layers.

Ok..... C.A.s John, Maria and myself will be heading out to the Conway for some windy night observing...bringing along the C11. I hope the winds clear the skies for some interesting night of observations.

C.A. John is on his way to my estates and from there we will load Maria's SUV with many instruments of science. We should on the highway by 7:30 pm... See at the Conway.

Glad you did. I developed a massive headache, and left at 7:10. Going to bed now. Sorry guys.

Any body want to give this another shot Saturday? I will have a new phone later today, so at least I can avoid the communication problems I encountered last week.
