Here is a remarkable CG effort depicting Astronaut Buzz Aldrin in the famous shot we have all seen before on the cover of LIFE magazine....but it isn't really. It is a complete computer recreation of the shot...all digital.

This is a side by side comparison of the original (Left) and the recreation (Right). One can descern many variables and alterations between the two, the helmet is narrower, shadowing is softer, suit is too clean etc..., but regardless - just too cool.
The fake one "looks" better than the original, and perhaps that's the key. It's a little too pretty and pristine, but that is what the artist went after.
